FIBROMYALGIA
DIFFERENTIAL
nFibromyalgia
nGiant Cell Arteritis – can cause headaches but does not usually have joint pain (can have swollen
joints).
nPolymyalgia Rheumatica – responds to NSAID’s, but often has decreased motor ability.
nRheumatoid Arthritis – possible positive FH. Pain at joints only.
nDermatomyositis – has decreased motor ability. No headaches.
