Born in Wales, singing and coal mining are close to Jackie's heart. When she first arrived in Australia, Jackie landed the role of Columbia in the  original Sydney production of  The Rocky Horror Show.

Following this were roles in the musicals
The Happy Prince, One of the Boys, Annie Get your Gun, Showboat and The Glitter Sisters, and the plays The Shifting Heart and O'Flaherty V.C.

With the formation of the Mo Award winning theatrical cabaret group The Ritz Company, Jackie toured Australia, Europe and Asia, then recorded two albums, Putting on the Ritz and Go into your Dance.  With the Ritz Co. she also performed in
Side By Side By Sondheim for Derek Nimmo's Theatre in the East, the Australian premiere of  Maltby-Shire's Starting Here, Starting Now,  and John Michael Howson's, Hooray for Hollywood.

Returning to theatre, Jackie played Lady Jacqueline in
Me and My Girl, and Carla Albanese in the Tony Award winning musical Nine. The australian cast recording of Nine, also released in the U.K. and featuring two solo pieces from Jackie, won an Aria industry award.

She sang in the international production of
Aida, played Maxine in Stepping Out, Mrs Jo in Great Expectations, and Prue in Chair in the Landscape,  took principle roles in A Swell Party and Oscars Turn to Sing, worked in the Sydney Theatre company's Threepenny Opera,  played Madame Giry in Phantom of the Opera, Heidi in Follies, Duchess Sofia in Call Me Madam, Electra in Gypsy.

Jackie is currently performing her first one woman show -
Love and other Peculiar Disorders, as well as touring with the Morning Melodies Program You Ought to be in Pictures with John O'May,  Ernie Bourne and Paul Keelan.

Television appearances include Good Morning Australia, Hey Hey It's Saturday, the Don Lane Show and the Midday Show, and for the ABC Jackie hosted the regular children's program
Waterloo Street and worked on G.P.

Movie work includes the Columbia film Call of the Wild, the tele-movies She'll be Sweet and Hunted  as well as the Logie Award winning The Alternative.

Jackie took part in the premiere of the new Australian musical
Life by Drowning, written by composer Paul Keelan and noted director and writer Gary Young.

The last couple of years have been very busy. Jackie has been playing Madame Giry in Phantom of the Opera's Asian tour in Shanghai, Seoul and Taipei.


Jackie lives in Melbourne with her husband, journalist and broadcaster Phil Kafcaloudes. They are collaborating on music for a new project based on the life of Phil's grandmother, a Greek spy in the Second World War.

Jackie Rees in Cabaret:Love and other Peculiar Disorders.
A musical comedy journey of the heart as a woman searches for the solutions to love in her life. From dating disasters and the quest for "Mr Right"; falling in love, getting (or not) married; babies... love with all its peculiar aspects. The cabaret is a witty observation of life and love drawn from Broadway shows and musical standards.
