The Life and Works from Jack

IF I DIDN’T GO TO THE MALL

If I didn’t go to the mall to walk.
I would have no one with whom I could talk.
I would probably walk in the street.
Of course I would be alone and have no one to greet.

I could go fishing, but not every day. Maybe on a whim.
I could go out to the beach for a swim.
Maybe I could even have breakfast or something like that,
But if I did it too often, I would probably get fat.

Dr. Parker said I should exercise to keep the old pump
from loosing prime.
Because when the pump stops pumping you’re out of time.
So I’ll just keep on walking where the weather is more stable.
I’ll have coffee and visit with my friends as long as I’m able.

I have many friends at the mall.
If I would quit going there, I would miss them all.
I enjoy the talking, the coffee, and the walk.
I wouldn’t miss the coffee, I might not balk.
but I would really miss the walking and the talk.
