The Life of Jack Robinson

The Life and Works from Jack

Old Grouches

A comment was made, he didn’t smile at the off color joke.

It was said, he is getting to be a grouchy old bloke.

If they were ninety, I wonder how they would feel,

With one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.

Age and wars are things that can make you see the light.

Many people turn to God when the end is in sight.

The end could be today, tomorrow or a long way off.

When we realize the end is near, at God we won’t scoff.

If the old gentleman’s sense of humor is a little dry,

Don’t criticize or judge him but ask yourself why.

Remember he has been around for quite some time,

He has seen a lot, and To be a little cross is no crime.

When we expect God to call for us any day.

We watch what we do and what we say.

Some may question whether God does exist.

As for me when he calls I want to be on his list.
