A Tribute to Jerry
A tribute to a Playmate, Nephew and a friend.
Jerry you may be gone but our friendship will never end.
I remember the days we spent on the farm.
We had a lot of fun, but did no harm.
The summer I helped you cut hedge posts.
That is when I knew you were grown up; almost.
We made tunnels in the loft with bales of hay.
Of course it was more fun than stacking them all day.
As adults, our lives went different ways.
We had no opportunity to discuss our younger days.
When we were young we had a care free life.
That is probably because our parents had the strife.
When the lord calls, we must be ready to obey.
We believe it is a much better place to stay.
Jerry it seems nearly the whole gang is there.
They will welcome you at the head of that golden stair.
We will miss you, but we know your pain is gone.
This knowledge will help Loved ones carry
on.
I am sure that God will find you a pleasant task.
You will be happy, and you won’t have to ask.
