Netscape Communicator Web Page Design

1.       Open Netscape Communicator

2.       It will initially connect to the Netscape Home Page.

3.       From the File Menu at the top choose {Edit Page}

4.You will notice that the screen is very similar to that of a word processor.


Text


Text fonts and typing can be completed the same way you would type on a word processor.

Links–> to use text as a link to an Internet site: Highlight the text and then click on the {link} button with the chain at the top, and type in the website link.

Note: after you make a link the text that is linked should be underlined and blue.

If the web page is long and you want to link to different areas on the page quickly you can create targets to the location you want to quick link to (do this simply by clicking on the target icon at the top). Then when create the link choose the named target from the box .



Images


To insert graphics: from the {insert} menu at the top choose {images} and the Image properties box will pop up.

Select {Choose File} and then find the image from your computer.


To link your image to an Internet site, choose the Link tab at the top of the properties box and insert the link.


Background Images


To use an image for your background: when iserting image click on the {use as background} from the Image Properties box.

Blinking Text


To create blinking text, highlight the text you want to blink and from the {Format} tab choose {Character Properties} Then click on the {blinking} box


Text Colour


Text colour and other styles could be changed from this box






Previewing Your Page

Before previewing your web page you must first save it to your M: space, and then click on the {Preview} button from the toolbar.
