Bridge Design

You’re a junior engineer working in an engineer’s office. The company you work for has landed a very large and prestigious contract. Your firm has been asked to design a truss bridge made of popsicle sticks that will span 15 inches. Your design team (you and 1 partner) is limited to 60 popsicle sticks and white glue (any extra popsicle sticks will result in a deduction in pay). You will then calculate a strength value for your bridge after it is tested to determine how much weight it can carry before it collapses.

                           Strength= capacity (kg)

                                           (Bridge mass (kg))2
