A critical review by Jacalyn Spoon
Free publications available on the Internet are not usually the great deal they appear to be. ZDNet on the other hand, is more than it appears to be at first glance. Pop up ads screaming technologies latest fads are balanced by critical analysis of those same items. ZDNet is available on the Internet in several language choices as well as country specific. Technology updates and upgrades, technology company news, legislation effecting technology and the tech business, downloads at your finger tips some free, some pricey, reviews of hardware, software and anything else review-able all appear on ZDNet. It is even possible to post a resume on ZDNet. ZDNet features Boolean search capabilities to search the news, all of ZDNet or the Web. Easier to navigate than many online newspapers or journals and probably more up to date (updated several times a day) than some too, ZDNet is a fully functioning database. Matches to search queries are presented neatly in date order. Every article has an author attributed to it. A second level of members only searching capabilities exists for a subscription of $7.95 a month but it is possible to use the BizTech library, without a BizTech subscription. BizTech links lead to article abstracts and full bibliographic information, making ZDNet a real asset. You must have this web link book marked!
