"When I woke up, I didn't really understand what was going on around me. I think that I was confused because all around me were military personel, moving briskly back and forth in an effort to do their assigned duties, but at the same time, everything seemed to be revolving around me. Several of the base's medical personel where stationed around me checking my vitals and doing tests that I had never seen done on any other person before. But going back to what I had noticed earlier, their were several regular military personel around me and they were all reporting to one person, and that one person never let his eyes leave mine. He just kept on staring at me as if he could read my thoughts in my eyes. For all I knew, he might actually be able to."
"Judging by his dress and seemingly non-personality, I guessed him to be a high ranking general. That is what I couldn't figure out...what in all the dims would this general be interested in me for." As soon as that thought passed though, he saw the General's lips moving and after a few seconds of deliberation over why the General's lips were moving but not making any sound, Jace realized that the General was talking to him.
"Are you awake son?" The general was saying, "can you here me?"
"Why was he asking that, of course I could here him talking...couldn't I? I was awake wasn't I? None of this was making any sense. Why was the general talking to me? Why was I so interesting to this General all of the sudden? I didn't understand what was going on, I just wanted to be some where else...by myself."
The young man lying on the medical table before the general must have been feverish because the General didn't understand what he was saying. The General asked him a couple of questions, but the only answers he got back were incoherent or simply the questions he had originally asked repeated back to him in a confused sort of uninteligible heap. At the moment, the young man was repeating over and over, "Aren't I awake? Can't I here you?." Both of which were questions which the General had just asked a couple of seconds before hand. In fact, the General was about fed up with this behavior when Shii walked in. Shii was an older man, but in good shape. He had short cut grey hair which matched his equally grey eyes, a small build and a rather relaxed looking Dou-wan-to practice uniform. He was very confident in his skills but did not boast or act pridefull at all. In fact, most regularly the opposite was true, that he was humble and kind.
"Whats wrong with this boy?" asked the General in a harsh manner. "He is a Dwanian disciple, is he not? He has the mark on his back."
"What is wrong with this boy general," replied Shii, "is that he is confused because he has no memory of the events that have occured today. Besides that, he also had his brain shaken about so much that he is having trouble creating coherent thoughts. After all he was moving incredibly fast for over five minutes, and of course this was the first time he has ever done such a thing as to Hyperspeed his body, that it is only logical that he should be in this state. However, he should not be here now because your medical staff has many other wounded soldiers to take care of and Jace is going to be fine after a nice nap and some time alone. I would ask that you would submit him into my care for now?"
"Dammit, I need to ask this boy questions! I need answers! I can't wait around while you do some kind of magical theropy."
"Well General, one way or another, it looks as if you will be waiting for some time, but I think that my magical theropy," Shii said this with a little bit of a smirk, "will allow the time to pass more quickly."
"Fine, but don't let him out of your sight Shii."
"Oh I don't intend to General. I don't intend to at all..."
