Two Lefts Don't Make A Right...But Three Do-Relient K
Relient K provided a collector's nightmare with their disc Two Lefts Don't Make A Right...But Three Do.  For the obsessive fan, a total of five different covers are available for this disc...that's somewhere between 50 and 75 bucks total, depending on where and when you buy the discs (of course, you can always do it eBay and get it cheaper....if you can find each cover...).  But, while it may be a collector's nightmare in that sense, the more important aspect is whether or not the music on the band's third disc delivers or not.

And if you're looking for a disc chock full of humor in the songs, enjoy this one.
Two Lefts is filled with tracks full of humor, from the completely pointless Gibberish to Mood Rings, a song that has a great solution for guys dealing with emotional girls (ah, the mood ring solves all the problems, doesn't it?), to the 80s tribute song, In Love With The 80s (Pink Tux To The Prom).  And it's songs like Mood Rings and Chap Stick, Chapped Lips & Things Like Chemistry that have managed to get the attention of the mainstream because of the great mix of humor and clever wit.

But humor is certainly not the only tool used by Relient K to convey a message.  They do, in fact, get rather serious at times.  Songs like
Getting Into You, Trademark and I Am Understood? get a bit more serious in their thoughts and offer listeners a chance to really sit back and think about the words.  These songs are solid musically and lyrically and they end up as some of the best on the disc.

Though serious thoughts are worthwhile on a project like this, the great thing about Relient K is that they are often able to meld that seriousness together with the humor.  On songs like
Forward Motion and Falling Out they use this technique quite well.  The lyrics in the verses are often quite humorous and make you chuckle.  At the same time, the chorus manages to bring it all together in a package that makes you think and is something that you can easily relate to.  This is one of the things that these boys have become truly great at as their discs have released.  The mix of humor and seriousness in a song is a great tool to use to reach so many more people.

All in all,
Two Lefts Don't Make A Right...But Three Do is a solid mix of serious thoughts and good humor throughout the disc.  You will laugh, but you will also be able to think.  That's something that few bands out there right now allow you to do.  It's an impressive feat, and is one that will likely keep Relient K as a mainstay in the Christian realm and give them "the stuff" needed to break through in the mainstream as well.
