Lime-David Crowder Band
Lime is the latest released from David Crowder Band.  It is an eight song CD consisting of six live songs recorded in Irvine, California and Atlanta, Georgia and two B-sides.  This release is actually a combination of two "quasi-unreleased EPs" from DCB, Green and Yellow.  Combining the two, DCB says, we are left with a lovely shade of LIME!

Normally reading the booklet before listening to the CD doesn't do much to add to one's listening experience.  However, a quick read of the story behind Lime is actually quite amusing.  Reading this may actually help you enjoy the disc even more.

First up on the CD is
Make A Joyful Noise/I Will Not Be Silent.  When this song begins, it's actually very surprising to hear it as the first song on a CD.  The customary opening song on a CD is generally very upbeat or something you want to bounce around to.  I Will Not Be Silent opens the disc with a relatively slow feel.  However, do not be deterred.  Make A Joyful Noise comes into play with a funky beat that gets you bouncing a little bit, even if you're sitting in your chair.  So DCB has fooled you, making you think that the song is going to be one to just sit back and listen to, but they switch it up and turn this into a great opening track.

Next up is one of the most well-known praise & worship songs ever,
Every Move I Make.  It seems to be a really fun song for anyone and everyone who listens to it.  However, do be careful.  Every person seems to have their own version of the song that they know.  If you are accustomed to the faster version of this song, you may not enjoy this version as much.  However, it's a classic song and still something that's very easy to sing along to and enjoy.

Sing Like The Saved hits you next.  This is truly a fun song.  If you've ever been to a DCB concert, then this will take you back to the time this song was played and you'll remember how much you were bouncing around and screaming and such.  If you've never been to a DCB concert, you will still enjoy this song just as much, and you'll likely want to get out of your chair and dance.  It's simply a really fun song.

The boys slow it down with their next track,
You Alone.  This is really just a great song to sit back and sing to God on.  it's directed at Him anyway, and the song just gets you in the mood to sing this, even shout this to Him all the more.

However, DCB does not slow it down for long.
Undignified brings itself about next and brings the tempo back up.  If Sing Like The Saved wasn't able to get you out of your seat, Undignified is sure to do the job.  It's an absolute riot of a song.  You're sure to enjoy this one.

The last live song on the CD is the eight-minute long
I Need Words/God Of Wrath.  I Need Words is another great song to sit back and reflect on while singing it.  God Of Wrath has a really cool guitar riff  in it, which is a great way to finish off a great set of live music.

End Of October is an instrumental track that you can actually hear on the enhanced CD intro from DCB's CD Illuminate.  It's a very cool instrumental track.  While being the shortest track on the CD (just over 2 and a half minutes...2:31 to be exact), it is still a great offering.

Last up on this CD is the
Heaven Came Down (Demo Version).  The studio version is available on Illuminate, and both versions are enjoyable.  It's really an awesome song lyrically.  If you like the original or are just a fan of hearing demo tracks, you'll enjoy this.

FINAL ANALYSIS: David Crowder Band truly gives you a lot of bang for your buck.  This CD is only eight dollars, and though it only has eight tracks, it is as long as many 10 track CDs, clocking at nearly 42 minutes.  Aside from End Of October, you have 7 tracks that have an average time of nearly 5 minutes and 40 seconds (and even including End Of October, the average time per track is still over 5 minutes!).  This is truly a great offering of live material from David Crowder Band, and the two B-sides make the CD even better.  A job very well done.
