Falling Away-Crossfade
Crossfade exploded on to the alternative scene in 2005, with their single Cold reaching gold status and subsequently propelling the self-titled disc to platinum status.  The band also enjoyed success with So Far Away and Colors getting the band more popularity.  Now, Crossfade returns with the follow-up to the self-titled disc.  Falling Away looks to create even more buzz about the band and continue to extend the success of the group.

The first single,
Invincible, is a great choice to set the tone of the entire disc.  Like Falling Away as a whole, Invincible takes on an edgy but softer sound than the previously mentioned singles.  Lyrically, it's a solid song of love and hope.  Vocally, it's a one of the more sound performances put forth by Crossfade in both discs.  Invincible is definitely one of the top songs on the disc.

Overall, the disc is pretty solid.  Tracks like
Already Gone, Why and Falling Away give the disc some good musical stylings that work well with the lyrics and vocals.  The vocals are, at times, hidden a bit behind the music and are not necessarily the primary focus, but overall, the tracks are pretty good.  The one track that doesn't quite match up to the rest of the disc may be Never Coming Home, which, while not a terrible track, is hurt a bit by some poor vocal quality.

However, there are some really great tracks on the disc as well.
Drown You Out and Breathing Slowly are two of the discs highlights, with solid vocals and great music that really help to make the tracks two of the best on the disc.  Breathing Slowly, in particular, rivals Inviincible as the disc's best track.  It takes on a harder side of the music more reminiscent of the self-title disc, but easily fits well with Falling Away.  Vocally, it is solid.  Lyrically, it is certainly one of the better tracks.  And musically, it is definitely the highlight of the disc's edgier side.

Overall,
Falling Away offers no real surprises.  Though a bit on the softer side, Crossfade has not lost the edge to it's music.  With plenty of radio friendly tracks and an overall solid sound, Falling Away certainly should become another solid release for the men of Crossfade.
