Pick your world. I, of course, am thinking in the world of an RPG, but this also works quite well in a modern day world. You're about to set foot on a very important journey. Your whole life has been spent in the safety of your home, your friends, and your family. This journey is going to cause you to break away from everything you know, and you know that that's something you need to do, but you don't really want to. The day has come at last. Your final day. You wake up earlier than you intended and you lie in bed, thinking about what you're going to be leaving behind. It saddens you, you don't want to abandon everything you've ever known. You get up and begin to pack the last of your things. Packing keeps your mind on the journey ahead of you. It brightens your mood a little, but your mood remains a mix. You really want to go on this journey. It will be exciting; you'll be able to see the world. You're ready. You run your mind through every aspect of the voyage and how you look forward to it. The time comes for you to leave. As you say your final farewells to your family, your emotions run strong. You're waving goodbye. It's the end of an era of your life. But it's here! The time to leave has arrived at last. You're ready, you're excited, you're eager to experience the thrill of the journey. Your heart is racing, but at the same time it is leaden. As these two conflicting emotions run to a head, you take a step into the unknown. There is no turning back.
