ABOUT THE CLINICS
The Rich DeStefano Javelin Technique Clinics are designed to educate and direct athletes on attaining the correct techniques used in throwing the javelin. Instruction will be geared from basics to advanced techniques. The main focus of the clinics include; lead-up drills, strengthening techniques, learn-by-doing strategies, and video tape analysis sessions. The clinics key in on correct body positioning, kinetic awareness, balance, agility and coordination. Clinics will be broken down into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups.

EQUIPMENT
Athletes should bring the following:
Running sneakers
Throwing spikes/shoes
Workout clothing
Personal corrective equipment (i.e., ankle, knee, elbow braces) Lunch for both days

Clinic will provide javelins, training equipment, bathrooms, athletic trainer, indoor/outdoor throwing & training facilities and weight room. Clinic will be held rain, snow, sleet or shine.

FROM NEW HAVEN AND SOUTH:

Take I-91 North to Exit 10. Take Route 40 Connector to end. Go right off exit, north on Route 10. After you pass Dunkin Donuts (left) & McDonald's (right), go 1/2 mile and Cheshire High School is on your left. Pull in driveway and drive to the back of the school. Park and track is to the rear of school.

FROM HARTFORD AND NORTH:

Take I-91 South to I-691 Connector in Meriden. Take I-691 West until Exit 3. Go left off exit and proceed south on Route 10 for about 5 miles into Cheshire center. Go passed Town Hall (left), Seven Eleven (left) and Cheshire High School is at bottom of hill on right Pull in driveway and drive to the back of the school. Park and track is to the rear of school.

DIRECTOR
RICH DESTEFANO In coaching dozens of clinics and camps all over the United States, Rich has helped produce some of our nations top high school, collegiate, and open javelin throwers of past and present. By being both a coach and a competitor, Rich has a distinct understanding of what it takes to be on top of the javelin field and provides knowledge and skills that he himself uses to excel.
