ABOUT THE CLINICS
The Rich DeStefano Javelin Technique Clinics are designed to educate and direct athletes on attaining the correct techniques used in throwing the javelin. Instruction will be geared from basics to advanced techniques. The main focus of the clinics include; lead-up drills, strengthening techniques, learn-by-doing strategies, and video tape analysis sessions. The clinics key in on correct body positioning, kinetic awareness, balance, agility and coordination. Clinics will be broken down into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups.

DIRECTOR
RICH DESTEFANO  In coaching dozens of clinics and camps all over the United States, Rich has helped produce some of our nations top high school, collegiate, and open javelin throwers of past and present. Being a top ranked American for the past 8 years, Rich has a distinct understanding of what it takes to be on top of the javelin field and provides knowledge and skills that he himself uses to excel.

ERIC MARTIN Eric is an All-New England thrower and graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a PR of 191'. A true student of the event, Eric has successfully added 20' to his PR in just two years and has developed into one of the east coast's finest clinicians.

JEFF MCCANN, ESQ,: Sports Psychologist Jeff holds an Athletic Counseling Masters Degree from Springfield College and has been active in the field of performance enhancement and youth development programming since 1997.  He currently is part of the X-Factor Consulting Group based out of New England and has worked with high school and collegiate level student-athletes (DI, DII, and DIII) in strengthening the power of their mental skills as they relate to sport performance.

EQUIPMENT 
Athletes should bring the following: 
Running sneakers 
Throwing spikes/shoes 
Workout clothing 
Personal corrective equipment (i.e., ankle, knee, elbow braces) Lunch for both days

Clinic will provide javelins, training equipment, bathrooms, athletic trainer, indoor/outdoor throwing & training facilities and weight room. Clinic will be held rain, snow, sleet or shine.

From Merritt and Wilbur Cross Parkways:
Take Exit 57 (Route 34 East) directly to the Yale Fields, or take Exit 59 (Whalley Avenue) and follow Yale Bowl Signs to the Yale Fields.

From I-95:
Take Eastbound Exit 44 or Westbound Exit 45 to Route 10 and follow Yale Bowl signs. Or, take Exit 47 (Downtown) and follow Route 34 to the Yale Fields.

From Downtown New Haven:
Go north on Chapel Street, then turn left on Derby Avenue (Route34) to the fields. From I-91: Take Exit 1 (Downtown) and follow Route 34 to the Yale Fields.
