When religious people become disenchanted with their religion, why do so many seek out another religion rather than the logical choice -- anti-religion (eg, scientific skepticism)?

Possible answers:

A) It requires courage to abandon the myth of a divine protector.

B) A scientific way to understanding the Universe requires more math and logic than the reading a book of homilies.

C) etc.
