FRAGMENTS OF THOUGHT

I cannot pretend my analyses are full-bodied and coherent—like architectural masterpieces. I don’t know about yours, but my brain seems incapable of constructing one.

Many philosophers claim to have done so. These "systemizers" windup frantically defending every tiny component of their philosophical system out of fear that the entire edifice will crumble if they don't, when, in fact, it's only their ego at risk.

As for me, I know that too many times, I had a "felt sense" of truth and completeness which proved otherwise.

Therefore: any concept I mention is a tentative fragment of a incomplete system that fits uncertainly with the other fragments.

Fortunately, I'm building a structure that, for the most part, only I depend on. And so is everyone else. We are responsible for our own conceptual architecture.
