Makeing Alcoholic Drinks
(includeing wine)
There are two setups to makeing wine. The first is for makeing about 4.5 to 5 gallons of it, and the second one is basicly the first one but set up on a smaller scale, it makes about a half-gallon.
The first way.(4.5-5 gallons)
Materials
3.5 gallons of your favorite fruit juice. (no apple juice because it sours)
5 gallon plastic bucket/container with lid. (you can get one from a bakery. just offer the guy a dollar for an empty food bucket.)
2-2.5 foot tubeing about as thick as a pencil. you can get this from any hardware store.
an empty bottle or container.
1 packet of dry bakers yeast. you can buy this at any supermarket, it usualy comes in three packs.
some duct tape or glue.
Process
Take the lid of the container and drill or punch a hole in the middle. the hole should be big enough so the tubeing fits snugly. Clean out the 5-gal container. Now add the 3.5 gallons of juice to the container and 1/2 gallon of water. add 1 packet of yeast, and 3 pounds of cane sugar. stir for 30 seconds to mix sugar. put the tubeing in the hole in the lid about an inch, make sure that when you close the lid the tube does not touch the juice. now duct tape the tubeing in place all around the sides so it is air tight (if useing glue let the glue dry befor puting the lid on). now put the lid on the container. now fill the empty bottle about half way with water. stick the other side of the tubeing in the bottle with the water. make sure the tube is all the way in the water and that it will stay that way. make sure the bottle with the water has a way the air can escape. store like this in a warm place (not outside if you can help it because the tempurater changing constatly greatly slows down the process.) for 2 to 4 weeks depending on how strong you like it. now pour through tea strainer or fine net into glasses or bottles and Drink! Finaly all that hard work now pays off.
3 pounds of cane sugar.
The second way (about 1/2 a gallon)
Materials
Buy a half gallon jug of fruit juice (no apple)
Get a dry yeast packet
Buy 2 ft. of tubeing anout the size of a pensil
A 1/4 or 1/3 cup of sugar
Cup or mini bottle
water
Process
Take and open the juice. take the lid and drill a hole the same size as the tubing. put the tubing in the hole about a half inch and duct tape it on the outside so it is air tight. Now take a cup of the juice and drink it. Tasts good doesnt it? now fill it with water to a slightly lower level than you had the juice. now add the 1/4 or 1/3 cup of sugar to the water and mix the sugar in. Now poor the sugar water in the juice. Add about 1/3 of the yeast packet to the container. screw on the cap with the tube in it. make sure the tube doesnt touch the juice. fill cup or small bottle with water and put tube all the way in the water. now store in warm or room temp room or closet for 2 to 4 weeks. now filter with coffie filter into cups. Drink.
