My '94 Caprice (SS) wagon
(Ok, so it's not quite an SS yet, but I'm working on it!)
A little Caprice SS history
Yes Virginia, there really WAS a Caprice SS. In the Middle East, the name "Caprice" carrys more weight than
the name "Impala". There was also concern about naming a car for an animal in that part of the world. So GM
exported the Impala SS as the Caprice SS, complete with Caprice SS badging and emblems. As my car was
not a factory Impala, I'm cloning it as a Caprice SS instead.
From the factory: 5.7 Liter LT1 Corvette engine, fuel injection, dual exhaust, electric fans,
air conditioning, pw, pb, pdl, power steering, heavy-duty everything.
Added by me: Impala SS grill, red bowtie on grill replacing the stock chrome one, 9C1 air deflectors, Corvette/Mobil 1 oil cap, LTZ hood badge
replacing the stand-up hood ornament, Mobil 1 in engine and rear end, "Caprice SS" dash plaque, converted amber
daytime running lights (DRL's), GPS navigation.
Future improvements: F-body front sway bar, Hotchkiss rear sway bar, Impala badging, Impala SS wheels
and tires, and other 9C1 and Impala SS upgrades.
