I joined the National Gaurd on January 16, 1996 when I was 17 years old. I was hauled off to Fort Leonard Wood, MO. on my summer break after 11'th grade were I spent 8 weeks in Bootcamp, then I returned home to complete my 12'th grade. After I graduated Highschool I went back to Fort Leonardwood for 4 more weeks to complete my A.I.T. training to become a 12 Bravo, Combat Engineer. I returned home to my Rector, Arkansas National Gaurd unit Co. B (-) 875'th Engineer BN. Were I was a M113, A.P.C. Armored Personel Carrier, ( It's Like a Tank ) driver for 3 years, I got so good at it they made me the Captains driver. I have 2 State Military Awards. They are the"Arkansas Emergency Service Ribbon" I got the first one on March 14, 1997 when a Tornado ripped through Marmaduke Arkansas, I was part of the recovery team. I got the second one on January 29, 1999 when a Tornado went from the Southwest corner of Arkansas all the way up to the Northeast, again I was part of the recovery team.
