These links are the main ones I found helpful in my various chainmail
endeavours. There are a lot of sites out there with confusing instructions
and "soon I will get pictures up" kind of crap. In any case, I found
reading several different essays on mail making helpful even after I knew
how to do the basics.
Colluphid Armoury has many patterns, as well as a beginners guide and pictures.
I used their hauberk pattern for 80% of my shirt, with only modifications to how the arms
go on.

Nemrac's Guide has helpful instructions on how to make a link coiler. The actual guide to
basic chain mail has large, easy to follow graphics, although he doesn't go beyond the basic
4-in-1 pattern.

Jon Daniels Has been selling rings for a long time. I recently ordered some bronze rings from him and they are excellent. No one offers more varieties of metals and sizes than he does. His site offers very good resources on the differences in metals and how to's on different patterns. Even if you don't want to buy supplies, the resources this site offers are extremely helpful.
