New Rules

            Effectively January 1, 2004

Fighting: First fight- 3 game suspension and a $60 fine
              Second fight- Expulsion from league

Intent to injure with a stick: (Spearing, highsticking cross checking, slash) 3 game suspension and a $60 fine. Further instances will be dealt with by league officials on a case by case basis.

Third man in a fight: 5 game suspension and a $60 fine. When a fight erupts all players will go directly to their benches. Failure to do so will result in a third man in penalty. Every player involved after the third man in will get a fighting major.

Double minors: Will be assessed to any player retaliating on any clean contact play, any player spearing another player in the back of the legs, x checking infront of the net, holding another players stick, and as well to any player retaliating on an opposing player whom the referee has already called a penalty on.

*****Two double minors constitute a game misconduct and a $30 fine and a two game suspension. This rule comes into effect on FEBRUARY 1.

Fights off the ice: Will result in expulsion from the league and a complaint filed with the edmonton police.

3 stick infraction (Intentional/unintentional): in one game and the player will be given a game misconduct and will also receive a suspension to be determined by league officials.
