Hi Jim! Thank you for your e-mail and photo of Mary Jane Robinson. I would like a copy of that photo but decided not to download due to the Doom worm. Maybe after the hullabaloo dies down you could send it again?I have Mary Jane in my genealogy too and I can prove to you that she was the daughter of Lucinda Robinson Ritchey and David Seacoy. Solomon B. Robinson was her grandfather. Upon Abraham Ritchey's death, there was quite a tussle among the children of Abraham Ritchey and the children of Solomon B. Robinson over the sum of $200. Letters were written and Abraham's probate file in Saline County, NE was very enlightening. From what I gather, Lucinda Robinson and David Seacoy had a child out of wedlock--Mary Jane Robinson. I don't have further details on David Seacoy. When Lucinda Robinson married Abraham Ritchey, Mary Jane was treated as his child. Upon the death of Solomon B. Robinson, $200 from Solomon's estate went to Abraham Ritchey with the understanding it was to go to Mary Jane upon Abraham's death. As soon as Abraham Ritchey died, Mary Jane petitioned for her money and quite an argument ensued with Abraham's children on one side and Solomon's on the other. A letter from my great grandmother Sarah Ann Ritchey Love stated she "bitterly objects to her coming in as an heir as she is no heir of A. Ritchey. Mary Jane Preston's maiden name was Robinson, her father's name was David Seacoy and as she is not A. Ritchey's heir, I object." Mary Jane Robinson Preson petitioned the court for the $200 plus interest, as well as a share of the estate. The probate file never seemed to come to a clear conclusion for the families--at least it was not documented. I plan to go back to Saline county this summer as I am only 2 hours or so away. I will give that probate file another look.Abraham Ritchey and Solomon Robinson are as far back as I go on both male lines--although I have theories, I cannot prove anything yet. As for Solomon's wife Lucinda Disbrow, I have been more successful. What do you have on this line? I will be happy to exchange info, photos, documents, etc. Did your Mary Jane Robinson have any photos of Solomon and/or wife Lucinda Disbrow? I have a photo of Abraham Ritchey and Lucinda Robinson. What can you tell me of the descendants of Mary Jane and William Preston?

DEATH: I found Lucy Ritchey in funeral home records (Huletz and Havel, Wilber), but no cemetery is listed. She died 11 Nov 1910, age 92 years. In 1885 A., Lucy, Sandord, Flora, Elmira and Dora are in Brush Creek Precinct according to the census.
Lucy may not have a stone, since we have read Wilber Czech Cemetery and Sunnyside and didn't find her.
