BIOGRAPHY: The Independent Patriot Lamoni, Iowa September 14, 1893 HOME NEWS A boy at Charles RIGGS', southwest of Lamoni, Monday night, Dr. SHERMAN tells us. We have presented to us this week a $1600 tomato - that is one of that variety - raised by Jno. D. BENNETT in the "poor soil" one pound and eight ounces. It's a beauty. The heat of last week was quite unseasonable, so much so, that many claim, and we think with truth, to have suffered more from the heat that week than any other of the warm season this year. Some thermometers have registered nearly a hundred in the shade. D. F. NICHOLSON has lately sold lots in Park Addition to the following: Mrs. S. K. ROGERS of Illinois; Geo. BROLLIAR of Kansas; Clark SHAW of Lamoni; A. H. HUTCHINS of Nebraska; and B. L. MERRITT of Lamoni.

He was ordained a teacher on 19 February 1882 at Blue River, Saline County, by R. M. Elvin and L. Anthony. He attended the Nebraska branches at Blue River and Lamoni.
