Yankees vs. Red Sox: The Fans React

On this page, you'll find mostly fan reaction to the 19-game rivalry between two of the greatest baseball teams in the world, the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees. As each game comes to a close, I will email mostly Red Sox and Yankee fans who are friends and cousins of mine who work and go to school in the real world to hear what they say about the games. One thing is sure: someone will be left out in the cold.

Yankee Fans: Mostly my parents, some of my workmates, classmates, friends, those who still live around my neck of the woods.

Red Sox Fans: Becky and Josh, my job coach, friends who live in the boston area.

That's all for now. Be sure to check back tomorrow for fan reaction, y'all!

From what fans saw, they were a bit disappointed. But some of them were happy that Johnny Damon came back to his old hometown, only to be defeated by the team that once made him a star. On Monday, the Yankees' lost to the Red Sox 7-3 on the strength of David Ortiz' 3-run homer; game 2 of the series was rained out and will be played as part of a doubleheader in September. Josh said he was happy that the Red Sox won the game even with Johnny Damon at Fenway Park for the first time since they lost in the playoffs. Ron was upset, and my Dad was sad too, that the Bronx Bombers lost the game. It will be interesting to see what happens next when they meet again, this time in the house that Ruth built, next weekend. Let's Go Yankees!!!
