My Adventures in Ticonderoga |
|
This past weekend, I went to my Grandma Kathy's house with my mom for a visit. It was great. On Friday morning we left Blairstown to Lincoln Park, where Aunt Kathy lives with her daughter Caitlin. We had a drink for a while before leaving for Ticonderoga. On the way, we got stuck in slow traffic as well as stopping at all places, like a rest stop where we got a trail mix with chocolate M&M's and nuts, as well as going to a great Chinese buffet restaurant in Clifton Park, NY called Dragon Buffet, which is located off I-87 at exit 9. It was excellent and better than the food at all the rest areas where hordes of tourist come to eat and go to the bathroom. We finally got to Ticonderoga seven hours after we left, and it was fabulous. I met Grandma Kathy and her reunited husband Grandpa Perry, whom I called "Mr. Arnot and Ms. Rosie" from that classic movie The African Queen (I will do a review of that movie soon on my webpage), as well as their neighbors the Jennings and seeing Aunt Diane and her son Brandon and Manny, which was fun. We went boat riding, as well as swimming near Prisoner's Island in the nice waters of Lake George. Perry and I also went hiking towards Mount Defiance, which is a great way to view Canada, Vermont, and New York at a birds' eye glance. Grandma Kathy made a special cake for me for a dessert, which was a bouncy cake made with peanut butter bits as well as a nice strawberry topping. I also had Wal-Mart chicken, which was good, as well as hot dogs, hamburgers, and chili, which was great. We also made a campfire that burned brightly as well as light some torches around the house. All in all, it was a great experience I will never forget. |
