My Hotel Respite

On October 2, 2004, I went to a respite sponsored by the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Morris/Somerset, a non-profit organization devoted to help those with disabilities. The hotel that we stayed in was the Wyndham Garden Hotel located just off Route 80, exit 25, in beautiful Mount Olive. During the week, me and my roommate David (who works at Abilities and has been to Camp Warren with me) went shopping at Circuit City and Wal-Mart in Ledgewood as well as going to the movies in Succasunna seeing Shark Tale (read my review on this site) and shopping at Amazing Savings (formerly known as Odd Job). We also went dining at many great restaurants: a Chinese restaurant located in Budd Lake, Perkins in Mount Olive, Longhorn Steakhouse in Mount Olive, a pizzeria inside Circle Lanes in Ledgewood (where we bowled twice), McDonald's in Mount Olive, and the Chester Hills Diner in Chester. Despite not going to Callie's to see how candies were made due to the breakdown of one of UCP's vans, we had a lot of fun bowling, playing videogames, and watching some TV and going swimming. It was fun.

When it ended on October 8, I felt sad for those who left to go home. Yet those days were pretty good, to escape from the nonstop work at Abilities as well as the daily grind at home. Now, it's time to enjoy the long Columbus Day weekend and relax.
