My Vacation at Camp Warren

From June 27-July 3, I spent six days at a nice camp in beautiful Knowlton Township. Camp Warren, which is owned by the Arc of Warren County, a non-profit organization devoted to helping people with disabilities live better lives on their own, is a fun place to hang out with local townsfolk as well as enjoy the nice atmosphere that that camp has to offer. From a large pond near the arts and crafts building where dozens of frogs  jump around the murky waters near a pipe, to the unique playground where kids of all ages can swing as well as slide, Camp Warren has it all. There are two buildings in Camp Warren: a recreation building as well as the Spann building, which contains the office of Kathy, the boss at Camp Warren who decides what will happen at the Camp. All of the counselors are really nice and some of them are good friends with me (some of them live near me in Blairstown and Knowlton), such as Dan, Chris, Mary, and Amanda.

My camp friends are really good with me, like David, who goes to Abilities with me every week, and others.  Activities range from arts and crafts (making stickers, stickmen, and coloring) to sports (basketball and relays) to movies (Miracle and Cheaper by the Dozen were great), Camp Warren has it all. They also have a great swimming pool that cooled me off during those hot summer days.

All in all, Camp Warren is the place to be if your parents are hard at work and need a break from your kid's nagging. The camp is located near Koeck Rd., just minutes off Rt. 80, exit 4 in Knowlton Twp., N.J. For more info, Google the name "Camp Warren" on the Internet.
