Gate City, Va. - Charles Otis Darnell, 52, Route 3, Gate City, Va. died Sunday (22 Dec 1985) A native of Scott County, Va., he was a retired machine operator at Dana Corp. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Lottie B. Darnell, Gate City, Va.; three daughters, Mary Katherine Sandidge, Gate City, Va, Brenda Jeanine Lawson, Greenville and Marilyn K. Darnell, Gate City, Va.; three sons, Charles Darnell Jr., Rodeny Dale Darnell and Richard Allen Darnell, all of Gate City, Va.; his mother, Mrs Denna Darnell, Dungannon, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Devella Darnell, Dungannon, Va., and Mrs. Mary Lou Estep Dungannon, Va.,; six brothers, Hudson Darnell, Rev. Walker Darnell both of Dungannon, Va., Early Darnell Jr., Wabash, Ind., Jim Darnell, Pennsylvanie, Bill Darnell, Gate City, Va., and David Darnell, Kingsport.; four grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday Warren Funeral Home and at the home with the Rev. Eckel Herron, and the Rev. J.B. Quillen and the Rev. Jack Shull officiating. Burial will be in the Corder Cemetery in Dungannon, Va."
