| HENRY DARNELL DUNGANNON, VA. |
| Henry Hudson Darnell, 75, died Wednesday (Oct. 21, 1992) at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was a retired miner and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, E.C. and Dena Darnell; three brothers, Charles, James and E.C. Darnell, Jr.; five daughters, Mabel, Claudia, Jackie, Joyce and Beulah Darnell. Surviving are his wife Phoeba Darnell of the home, three sons, Billy Darnell, Big Stone Gap, Howard Darnell and Delmar Darnell, both of Dungannon, Va.; four daughters, Zella Taylor, Bristol, Va., Valma Begley, Kathy Corder, and Carolyn Sergent, all of Dungannon; 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walker Darnell and Billy Darnell, both of Kingsport, and David Darnell, Nickelsville; two sisters, Mary Estepp, Dungannon, and Devella Darnell, Gate City. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Gate City Funeral Home and anytime at the residence or home of Howard Darnell. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. William Berry the Rev. Eckel Herron and the Rev. James Mann officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be in Fort Black-more. |
