A lot of updates today. First the trailer for wake of death was finally launched and can be seen on it's officia site: www.wakeofdeath.com very good trailer don't miss. Also was released the new poster.Then Van Damme's next movie will be Kumite. He stars, directs, produces and writes. The budget is 14 million, also stars Bolo Yeung. According to nbc in the next episode of Las Vegas, a very popular drama series about a security company in Las Vegas, Jean Claude Van Damme will make guest appearence. The episode called "Die fast, die furious" and this is the official synopsis:
With the Montecito playing host to the production crew for the feature-film "Die Fast, Die Furious" staring Hollywood action star Jean-Claude Van Damme (as himself, "Timecop"), Ed (James Caan) maintains a watchful eye on the film's intense stunts. The news are keep coming. According to darkhorizons the rumours about the ill british financier are categorically wrong and the reason for the delay are creative differences between the producers and the director which caused Ringo Lam to leave the project. The new date for filming start is october 13th and the location is South Africa. A new director was hired, but his name currently unknown. |

Unfortunatly the filming of after death was delayed for 5 weeks. Van Damme now in Los Angeles waiting for the filming. Really bad news that mean that we'll see after death only by the end of next year and cover play we'll be released only in 2005, if it will be released! According to darkhorizons Van Damme has another project coming and much sooner then we can expect. The project is a sequel, sudden death II and according to the flyer that was sent to a video store in Santa Monica this movie will be released in 2004. The plot is very simple and not very original: Darren McCord (Van Damme) must save his oldest son from mercenaries who take over a football stadium. It's really hard to expect this movie to be released in theatres, but maybe success of Van Damme's two next projects will change it. This is a third movie to be released in 2004 with After death scheduled to may and Cover play, another die hardish style movie, scheduled to the end of the year. Seems Van Damme is going to work really hard for the next two years shooting these projects and also the anticipated Street fighter II which loses some great cast, first Holly Valance and now Dolph Lundgren.

The savage is indeed going to premiere today on romanian tv. It's pretty amazing how many times they change the name of this movie. In the tv program listings it's name is "In hell". Check it here
Also you can check some pictures from the tv spot aired on the romanian tv on vandammefan site. So far looks good. I just hope that the movie will recieve good reaction from the viewers in Romania and that will encourage the producers to release the movie in theatres across Europe and maybe even in US. |

There were recently some different news about "the savage" like it's going to premiere this saturday at romanian tv (vandammefan). But according to Michael Bailey Smith (the viallain of the movie) it's going to be released on November 9 to theatres in Europe and Asia and on video, cable and pay-tv in USA. I updated Projects section. Thanks to Kasey's Van Damme page, there are a lot of info about After Death and Cover Play
"After death" sounds great and I believe it'll be a great movie.
About "Cover play" I still can't be sure. I didn't like that they wrote so much details about the movie (like about the helicopter scene), but the script itself sounds good for an action movie. Still, the most important thing that will determine if it's going to be a good Van Damme movie is the director who is still unknown. A good director can make from this script a movie even better then "Sudden death" (previous Van Damme's die hard kind of movie). So let's wait!!! |

There's only two movies for now. There some more projects which Van Damme suppose to star in (not for sure), like: Street Fighter 2 with Dolph Lundgren, Cover Play, The Tower, Snakehead and maybe Swan Lake. Also there are rumors about X-Men 3 which would be great cause this movie can open for him the doors back to the big screen and for action star status.
