This is the view from the slopes of Mount Saint Helens in June (1998). The Cascades can be seen in the distance. Its amazing that the volcano killed every tree within 20 miles of the blast. Plants are making their way back in .......
Several thousand feet were blown off the top of Mount Saint Helens in the eruption.
There's not many trees, but the wild flowers are spectacular in June. They contradict the utter destruction of the environment surrounding the volcano.
