More Information
JATP is an outreach ministry under the direct guidance and supervision of Journey - The South Royalton Foursquare Church.  The purpose of the program is to reach out to adults in the community (South Royalton, VT and surrounding areas) through education.  JATP runs small group classes covering the areas of Writing Skills and Mathematics and matches volunteer tutors with students in need of individual attention.  JATP is open to adults, aged 18 and over, with a desire to inprove their lives through education, regardless of their faith or religious preference.

JATP serves adult learners by providing instruction and guidance in the following areas:
               GED Preparation                               Adult Basic Education/Literacy
English as a Second Language          Life/Work Skills

JATP provides instruction through the use of volunteer instructors and tutors who commit to a minimum of two hours each week.  In between classes or tutoring sessions, students may receive additional help through the JATP Online Classroom.  This is an internet-based learning portal through which student may communicate with a tutor, view assignments, submit assignments, and access other online learning tools to help students meet their learning goals.  By combining both class or individual instruction with the JATP Online Classroom, students can achieve their desired results faster.

Students wishing to participate in JATP should call the number above to set up an appointment to speak with the program administrator.  The administrator can also be contacted by
e-mail.  Students will first need to complete an application and an informal assessment to determine which program would best meet their needs.  There is never any charge for participating in JATP.  All that is asked for is a commitment to at least 2 hours a week and a desire to learn.  Students wishing and able to financially assist JATP through a donation are welcome.

Potential volunteers may also call the office or
e-mail the administrator for more information.  Volunteers are needed for many positions, including instructors, tutors, and clerical assistants.  Volunteers, like students, are asked to commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week.  Patience, dedication, and reliability are the skills volunteers must possess to help provide consistent programming.
