Pretoria: inside Voortrekkersmonument

Our 1996 holiday in South Africa was unforgettable; in August (it was winter overthere then!) we left for three weeks. We only booked the flight, the car, a hotel in Pretoria for the first nights and some nights in National Parks in advance.
South Africa is a country with great contrasts in landscapes, people and in living standard. We went there in the right period. In 1996 Apartheid was justbanned and the Rand had devaluated.

We went from Johannesburg Airport direct to Pretoria and continued our journey via Sabie, Pilgrim's Rest, Kruger National Park, Swasiland, Cape St. Lucia, Umfolozi Game Reserve, to Durban.
From here by
SAA Boeing 737 to Port Elisabeth, further to addo Elephant NP, Tsitsikamma NP, Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Stellenbosch West Coast NP, to Cape Town.
