Chapter 8

Lisa's heart started pounding as she watched half of Michael's house burn in the flames. The fire hadn't reached where Michael was yet but she knew it wouldn't be long before it will.

"Get out of there, Michael." Lisa whispered to herself. Tears came to her eyes. The black in The Master's eyes returned. He looked at Lisa.

"Get a grip. I locked all the doors. No way can he get out of there before the plastic melts off of his face." He laughed at his own joke. Lisa sighed and tried to hold back her tears.

"Don't worry, my dear." The Master said. "Michael was a nothing. Just another useless creature to kill. He was below us. I will give everything you need."

-----

Michael smelled the smoke and cut off the TV. He got up and went towards where it was coming from. He figured that it was just a candle that he had forgot to put out in his room. Half way up the stairs, Michael began to see the smoke coming down the staircase. He stopped in his tracks.

-----

Lisa just watched The Master work his magic.

"We will have your blood," he whispered with his eyes closed. "You have no choice."

-----

The voices started to come back. Michael finally realized what was happening when he heard the loud crackle of the flames.

You have no choice , Michael...the voices said.

"No!" Michael ran down the stairs and to the front door. Turning the doorknob frantically, he saw the fire spreading down the stairs. The door wouldn't open. Somehow it was locked. He checked all the doors and windows and all of them would not open. He was trapped and the flames were spreading fast.

-----

The Master turned on some classical music and hummed to it. The fire had spread through most of the house and it didn't look like Michael had made it out. The Master started to laugh.

"What's so funny?" Lisa asked.

"You know what? If he gets out of there, it's final. I'm going to have find him and torture him."

Lisa said nothing.

-----

Michael couldn't breathe. He started coughing as he tried to throw things at the windows to escape. But no matter how solid the object, it shattered against the glass. The glass was unbreakable. It was the weirdest thing he had ever seen. The fire was closing in on him and the smoke was heavy. There was no way out.

The violins and the flutes that fluttered around Lisa's head drove her crazy. But she couldn't tell The Master to switch radio stations. No one tells The Master what to do.

"Welp," The Master said. "Looks like the King Of Pop is finished." He took his keys from his pocket and prepared to start the engine.

"Master," Lisa said softly.

"Yeah?"

"Let's wait a while longer."
