"Aren't there?! They want my blood!"
"Yeah, and 'they' aren't kidding either. Come here."
Michael sat down next to Lisa.
"Now," Lisa said. "lift that television set with you powers. Then drop it."
Michael nodded. He turned his attention to the TV. His eyes turned blue and the television floated about five inches from the small table. Michael closed his eyes and the TV dropped.
"Are the voices still there?"
Michael shook his head and opened his eyes. He calmed down.
"Michael, look. I shouldn't be telling you this much, but these magic tricks you're doing has to stop. What Sharon did is not meant for you. Just separate yourself from anything Sharon and the voices will stop. "
"But--" Michael started. "I can't. I just can't."
Lisa shrugged. "Well, there's nothing I can do for you."
"You can say that you love me." Michael said.
"Why?"
"Because I love you." Michael lied. He needed to get over Sharon.
"Well, I don't feel the same way about you. Sorry."
There was a silence.
"What will happen if I continue doing these spells? And how do you know about all this?" Michael asked.
"Number one--you will die. Number two--just like you, I wanted to learn."
She sighed. "Just don't do it, Michael."
Michael gave her that same narrow-eyed stare. His doe-like eyes now look like a snake's. Lisa loved that stare. It sparked something inside of her, but she tried to hold back all emotion.
"Well, since you feel you don't love me," Michael said. "I don't care what's going to happen to me. I will learn everything you know. I don't care if I die trying."
Michael stood and started to walk out the door.
"Why?" Lisa asked. Michael stopped.
"Why must you know? Obviously, things like this is none of your business and--"
"no." Michael said. He turned around and looked straight at Lisa. "No, that's where you're wrong. It is my business."
Lisa folded her arms, waiting for an explanation.
Before Michael spoke, he realized something. "Sharon,"
"What about her?"
"How do you know Sharon had something to do with this 'magic stuff'? I sent a press release to the media saying Sharon was a murderer and nothing else."
Lisa shook her head. "I told you. I know about these things. I know about anything supernatural."
Michael rolled his eyes. "You were always like that."
"Like what?"
"Like that. You know it all. ' Don't worry, Mike. I know what to do. I know everything.' Like I'm some kid."
Lisa laughed. "What am I supposed to do? You act like a child! Like you're acting now. ' I'm gonna do what I wanna. I don't care what anyone says.' That's how you always acted. You came in the door and almost went insane if it wasn't for me. How are you just going to continue to--"
"I do what's important to me. I don't care what it takes--"
"Maybe you should care." Lisa snapped.
"You know what? I don't have to take this--"
"No. You don't." Lisa said.
There was a brief silence. Without another word, Michael went out the door.
"You ass." Lisa muttered as the door slammed.
