"Dave, Dave. Stop." Lisa said. "Let it go."
Taking a deep breath, Dave walked away from the crowd. Lisa and Jake followed. When they came back to their bowling lane, LaTasha and Michael were screaming at each other. Jenny tried to calm things down.
"You know what??" Michael said loudly. "Don't talk to me! Okay?"
"Gladly!" LaTasha said.
"You guys..." Jenny said. She sighed and shook her head. Lisa was glad Michael and LaTasha were arguing. Michael didn't ever notice the fight.
"I guess the game's over." Jake said.
"Yeah, I'm kind of hungry anyway." Jenny said standing.
"Cool, we could go out to eat somewhere." Michael suggested.
Everyone looked at each other. Everyone knew Jenny meant 'hungry' in a different way. Lisa said, "I'll go with you and LaTasha. Michael and the boys can go to a restaurant."
Michael seemed confused but he went along with it.
As Michael, Jake, and Dave walked down the street to the nearest restaurant, Dave whispered to Jake, "Do you know why Lisa is trying to avoid showing Michael the vampire's way of life?"
Jake paused and whispered. "She is going to show him. But gradually."
Dave nodded. "Richard means business. Damn, I wish I could tackle him one on one."
"You have plenty of chances. Believe me."
Jenny laid the body she had just drank blood from in under a bush where no one would see. Watching Jenny feed off of the man made Lisa hungrier for Michael's blood. She was afraid her hunger would get to a point where she couldn't be around Michael without wanting to take his life away. Jenny walked back up to Lisa and LaTasha.
"Alright. Let's go find the boys before Richards gang jumps us. They're around here somewhere."
Lisa looked around, just in case. It was as if they were being stalked. "Yeah, let's find the boys."
Michael, Dave, and Jake took a seat at the restaurant. The place wasn't very fancy. A lot of middle class people went there. Dave and Jake noticed Michael's eyes were scanning the room.
"Is something wrong?"
Michael's eyes dropped to the glass of water that was set on the table. "I don't know. Something doesn't seem right."
Dave and Jake looked at each other. They knew Michael had powers like them. Even they could since something wasn't right. Michael took a sip of his water. Jake looked down at his glass but looked up quickly when he saw about five guys rush out of the restaurant. They weren't Richard's gang either.
"Michael!" Jake cried. Michael froze with the glass of water to his mouth. "Don't drink anymore."
Michael put the glass down.
"I think we better get out out of here." Dave suggested.
They hurried out of the restaurant and bumped into LaTasha, Lisa, and Jenny.
"I just saw some people run out of the restaurant!"
Jenny cried. Michael nodded and took a deep breath. He blinked and Michael's eyes flashed the color green.
"Is something wrong, Mike?" Lisa asked. Michael blinked again and his eyes flashed red.
"My drink was spiked."
"What? How do you know?" Lisa asked.
"I dunno. I just don't feel right."
"Damn it." Jake said. "I didn't notice until it was too late."
"It's okay. Luckily, drugs don't have too much affect on..." Lisa stopped. "Michael, I just think that the drug they gave you wasn't the right one."
LaTasha pulled Lisa to the side. "They thought Michael's human side was strong enough to drug him, huh?"
Lisa shrugged. "Either that or they're just trying to scare us."
"Who were those guys?" Michael wanted to know. "The ones who ran out of the restaurant."
Everyone shrugged. They all thought that it was Richard up to his tricks again, but they had no idea who or what was chasing them...
