"I'll drive." Michael said.
Lisa laughed. "I'm not sure I can trust you."
"Trust me??" Michael asked, acting hurt. "How could you say that?"
"Yeah yeah. Just get us home alive." Lisa joked.
As they drove, Lisa said, "Let's go to the park."
Michael smiled. He liked the sound of that. "It's a beautiful night."
"Beautiful is right."
They stopped at the empty playground. As they walked towards it, Michael started to laugh.
"What is it?" Lisa asked, smiling.
"I've never been to the park this late at night. It's different. Usually I see children running and playing." He giggled. "Wanna see something I learned when I was little?"
"Sure." Lisa said. Michael ran up the steps of the playground and put his hands on the monkey bar. Not really paying attention, Lisa marveled at how beautiful The Night was. She could hear the crickets and owls, the errie silence of humans, as they lay rested in their beds. This is the world that she belonged in. She just wanted Michael to be connected with this world too.
"Hey, Lisa! Are you watching? Look!"
Lisa laughed. "Yeah I'm watching." Lisa looked up and saw Michael sitting on top of the monkey bars. He waved down at Lisa with a childish grin on his face.
"You're such a big kid!" Lisa laughed.
Michael nodded.
"Get down from there before you hurt yourself!" Lisa laughed.
A black BMW pulled up across the street from the park.
"There he is...on the monkey bars." Richard said.
The three vampires in the car laughed. Richard put both hands on the steering wheel as he strained to see.
"Who is that with him?"
Paul, who was sitting in the back seat, shrugged and ran his fingers through his blond hair. "That's Lisa Marie. She's in love with him." he mocked.
"oooooo," Everyone laughed.
"Hasn't The Master torn her limbs apart for going out with him yet?"
William asked. "I don't care how special he is. He's half human."
"It won't matter now." Richard said, chewing loudly on gum. Everyone in the car started laughing.
Holding each other's hand; they began to walk across the grass.
"If you wish apone a staarrr..." Michael sung, looking up at the black sky. "Makes no difference who you arrree..."
"Does nighttime see any different to you?" Lisa asked.
"Should it be? It's as magical as always."
"No, do you feel...part of it?" Lisa asked.
Michael shrugged. "I'm a part of nature. Nature is a part of me."
Lisa sighed and shook her head. After a long walk, they headed back to the car. Lisa got in the driver's seat this time and looked at her watch.
"Wow, it's 3 in the morning."
"Yeah, I can tell." Michael yawned.
As Lisa started to drive Michael said, "You wanna sleep over at my place?' "You don't want this night to end, do you?" Lisa smiled.
"Honestly, no. I don't."
Lisa was at least glad Michael had a good time.
"Sure. We'll crash at your place."
Michael looked out the rearview mirror.
"Hey Lisa, that's a nice BMW that's following us..."
