Chapter 4

Michael woke up suddenly but not because of his nightmare.
He heard screaming.
Prince screaming.
Michael jumped out of bed and ran to the children's room. Michael sat by Prince's bedside.

"Shhh...everything's okay." Prince was cuddled up under the covers, screaming and crying.

"Where am I??? Where's my daddy?"

Michael glanced over at Paris who was shaking with fear. "Daddy's here."

Paris started crying and Prince began to get hysterical. "Where's daddy?? You're not my daddy!!!"

Michael figured they just had a bad dream, just as he had. Michael leaned over to hug Prince. "It's okay--"

Prince pushed Michael away from him. Michael thought for a moment. He saw a bag of candy on the floor by Prince's bedside. Smiling, Michael knew Prince would do anything for candy.

"Hey, it worked when I was a kid, " Michael said to himself. Showing the candy to both children, Michael said gently, " Hey, anyone here like candy? Here's the deal. You two get candy and we all go to sleep, okay?"

The children's crying continued. Michael sighed as he put a piece of candy in his mouth. There was no way he was going to get any sleep that night. That day, Michael was the one who got a surprise visitor.

"Hi, Sharon!! Glad to see you," Michael greeted.

"Hey, I was wondering if I could take you--"

"On a date?" Michael finished. His smile grew wide.

"Yeah sure."Sharon said.

Michael frowned. "Sorry I can't."

"Why??"

"My kids," Michael explained. "Something spooked them. I don't want to leave their side. I've been up since 3 o'clock this morning trying to calm them down."

Sharon rolled her eyes. "Oh come on. They'll be fine. Have fun once in a while."

Sharon stared straight into Michael's eyes. "Leave. Them. Here." She commanded.

Michael blinked as if coming out of a daze.

"Leave them here?" He asked, uncertain.

"Yeah, see? Like this." Sharon grabbed Michael's hand and pulled him outside. She led Michael to a cemetery. As they walked amongst the graves, Michael finally asked, "Why in the world are we at a cemetery??"

Sharon didn't answer and grabbed Michael's hand again. She led him into the grass. She then found a specific tombstone and sat on it.

"Why are we at a cemetery??" Sharon said. "That's a ridiculous question! Do you know how romantic this place is??"

Michael gazed around. The wind blew his hair and he moved some stands from his face. Then he stuck his hands in his pockets. "Uhhh...romantic?" he asked.

"Yes! Michael, have you ever wondered how all these people died. They all must've died for some reason. Don't you ever wonder what these people lived for? There are so many stories here!"

Michael shrugged his shoulders. He had never thought about that before.

"Michael, what would YOU like to die for?" Sharon asked softly.

"Love." Michael answered simply.

"Love, huh?" Sharon took Michael's hand as she stood. Michael nodded. Sharon gazed hard into Michael's eyes.

"Michael, it's time." she said.

Michael's eyes became blank and he nodded.

"You know what its time for right?"

Michael nodded again. Sharon got down on her knees by the tombstone. Michael kneeled down in front of her, still holding her hand. He blinked and shook his head.

"No no no, what am I doing?" He whispered. He looked at Sharon. "Sharon, I can't--- I mean, I have to attend to the children and---"

"You love me, don't you?" Sharon asked, looking directly into Michael's eyes again.

"Yes, I do. I really do." Michael said. He leaned forward and kissed her. Sharon couldn't believe it. Her powers were working! Michael took Sharon's jacket off, then kissed her again. As Sharon threw her jacket out of the way, she smiled as she glanced at the tombstone. She bought that tombstone herself. There was a grave dug for it yet, but there will be. The name on the tombstone read "Michael Joesph Jackson". She let her thoughts of the tombstone go as her and Michael spent a moment of passion together.
