Chapter 7

“I don’t understand why you wanted to do this at night…” Evan chandler said as he followed Prince and Paris down the yellow brick path way.

“Well, Neverland is beautiful at night.” Paris glanced at Prince. “We should know.”

Prince dug his hands in his pockets nervously. “Yeah,”

They began to approach the amusement park.

“Here is the ferris wheel….one of my father’s favorite rides. “ Paris explained.

“You know, speaking of your father, let’s talk about him.” Evan said gazing up at the rides.

Prince’s heartbeat raced with anger. He bit his lower lip.

“I know you miss him terribly. We all do. But….what do you think about all the negetive press he’s been getting in his life….and after his death?”

Paris turned around to face Evan. She gazed at Evan for a long second. She opened her mouth to say something but a strong gust of wind cut off her words. Prince’s heart started thudding harder, and not because he was angry. Evan looked up at the sky and back at Paris.

“Whoa that was strange.”

“Um yeah. Let’s go.” Paris said quickly.

They reached the house. Prince walked in first and tried the light switch. It worked.

“This place is amazing,” Evan said, looking around.

Prince gazed around the living room and looked at the table. The carvings were gone. Prince turned around to Paris, who stood at the doorway.

“I don’t know what’s going on,” Paris whispered. After Evan took a good look around the place, they started heading back. There wasn’t any hauntings what-so-ever.

When they reached the gates again, both Prince and Paris were baffled.

“I want to thank you for the tour,” Evan said. “But I’m just really curious though. What do you honestly think about your dad?”

“Well,” Paris said. “I know he loved us.”

“That’s a good thing to know,” Evan said, getting into the stretch limo. “That’s real good to know.”

That night, Prince and Paris spent the night pondering the day’s events.

“I don’t get it. “ Paris said, lying on her bed. She held the Invincible CD booklet in front of her face and stared at it. “Did we imagine all that stuff that happened when WE went there?”

Prince shoke his head. “No, we didn’t. I am certain we didn’t.”

“Well, Evan is going to buy neverland Prince!” Paris shouted in fusteration. “what can we do about it?”

Prince was silent for a long moment. “And you brought me back to the light……” he whispered. “Never neverland, that’s the place….”

“Prince?? “ Paris said. She threw the booklet across the room. It hit the wall and ended up on the floor.

Prince ran his hands through his blond hair. “I don’t know…”

He laid down next to Paris. “I don’t know what is going on.”

Both Prince and Paris laid there, thinking to themselves about what all these messages could mean. Before they knew it, they fell asleep.

Prince opened his eyes to look down at the large landscape of Neverland. He looked up and saw a clear blue sky. It took him a while to figure out where he was. On top of a ferris wheel.

“It’s magical outside, isn’t it?”

Prince jumped. He turned to his left and saw his father. He was dress in black slacks and a black shirt. He was young. It seemed as if he just released his Bad album. He was carrying a black umbrella. He gave a toothy smile.

“Michael?”

“Yes,” His smile didn’t fade.

“Wh-why are you doing all of this?” Prince stimmered.

“Doing all of what?”

“The messages…the signs….”

“Prince….” He shrugged excitedly and giggled. “I’m so proud of you.”

Prince just gazed at him. He realized how much he missed him. Unvoluntery tears popped into his eyes.

“Daddy….” Prince’s voice cracked as he hugged his father.

“I love you Prince. You know that.” Michael said.

“I do…I do….” Prince sobbed. He let go of him.

“You brought me back to the light,” Michael said, looking right into his eyes.

“What does that mean?” Prince asked.

Prince suddenly noticed something. He looked down and saw blood on his shirt. He looked up and saw the gunshot wound in Michael’s chest. Prince’s jaw dropped. “Daddy….”

Michael leaned back over the door of the ferris wheel car. He leaned so far back he fell off the side and to his death.

“DADDY NO!” Prince shreaked.

“Prince! Prince! Wake up!” Paris said, shaking Prince.

Prince sat up with a start. He hugged Paris and let his tears flow.

“Oh god…” he sobbed. “Oh god…”

“It’s okay….” Paris said.

At that moment, Paris’ stereo turned on. The volume was up on max and blasted “You Are My Life”.
