Chapter 23

When Prince and Paris entered Hayvenhurst Janet ran up to them.

"Where have you two been? The family has been worried sick about you!" Janet cried. She noticed both of the teenager's eyes were red from crying.

"Guys...what happened?" she asked with concern.

Prince and Paris looked at each other.

"Can we tell you some other time? Besides, I think you'll find out sooner or later." Prince said.

Janet sighed, confused. "Well alright." She said as she watched Prince and Paris head up the stairs.

Janet then went to the family room to grab her book before she went upstairs to bed. When she entered the room it was freezing cold. Janet laughed as she remembered Debbie's words on the phone, "Do you believe in ghosts?"

When she saw her book on the couch there was a black fedora hat on top of it. She picked it up and was hit by the smell of Michael's cologne and memories of her and Michael unvoluntarily came back to her. She put the fedora to her chest and sighed. When she looked down she found a peice of paper on her book. She put the fedora down and read the peice of paper. In Michael's scribble-like handwritting it said:

You should believe in ghosts Janet.
I will always and forever love you.
And I will always and for eternity be watching over you.

Your big brother,
Michael

Janet looked around the freezing room and smiled as tears streamed down her face.

"Where ever you are Michael, I love you too..." She whispered.

A few months later:

"I want 200 hamburgers, 200 cheeseburgers, as many french fries as you can give us--" Evan pause on the phone. "What? Well, this is Neverland! I have some hundred kids from the Make A Wish Foundation coming over in a couple of hours and--" he paused. "Well what you heard on the TV is wrong. I'm not making it into a business. There has been a change of plans. Look, just get the food over here as quickly as possible. Hmmph, if it were Michael Jackson himself calling you ya'll would've been on your butts trying to get the food here in a minute, no if's, and's, or but's about it." He hung up the phone and shook his head. "Dumb ass mother-"

"Dad," Jordy said. "What's happened to you?" He laughed. "Inviting Make A Wish Foundation into your money making machine?"

"money making machine? I thought this place was called Neverland." Evan said.

"I thought it was 'La La Land' if I remember you saying correctly." Jordy smirked.

"Well whatever I said, whatever I called it, it doesn't replace the fact that this place is amazing and was built....to help children. "

"Well. that's nice and dandy, dad. But you need to move the Peter Pan statue from out in front of my room, it's creepin me out." Jordy said as he left the room.

Evan laughed. "Okay, son. " He looked down at the notepad in his lap. He had scribbled plans for a mural in front of the themepark in memory of Michael Jackson. The phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey it's tommy, I have some exciting news!"

Evan smiled. "Okay what is it?"

"I just finalized plans for a new record label."

"Really now?" Evan said.

"Yes, but it's going to support up and coming artists. Not big name ones. "

Evan's eyes widened. "Wow, so out of character."

"And you're the main one talking about being out of character?" Tommy joked.

"Hold on, someone's on the other line." evan clicked over. "Hello?"

"Wassup, Evan, it's Lisa."

"Hey Lise." Evan said.

"I'm having an album release party, you wanna come?"

"Who all coming?" evan asked.

"A whole bunch of celebrities...including Debbie Rowe."

"You've got to be kidding me."

"No, me and her became good friends. Me, her, and Janet made some plans next weekend to hang out and stuff. Hey did you talk to Tommy?"

"Yeah, he's on the other line. He just told me to good news."

"Pretty strange isn't it?" Lisa said.

"No i don't think it's strange. I think Michael put things in perspective...for all of us." Evan said.
