While most of it will be dull dull dull, every now and then there will be something of profound interest.
Today I hate children

So I am a teacher and I do love my job, but in all honesty some days I HATE children. I hate how children act. I hate how children look. I hate what children know and don't know. I hate how children are raised. Simply stated, I hate children. Children are sly, devious, deceitfully wicked creatures whose sole purpose is to keep everyone else on their toes. I just loathe them and really question why I do what I do, because I just can't stand them. AT ALL.

I know what you're thinking, quit teaching. I think it a lot, but I actually really like teaching and most of the time, I really like my students. It's just those one or two or three or four that make me wish that teeanagers were locked away and not allowed out until they turn 25.

BTW, I'm really not this bitchy, i jsut had a bad experience with one of my students who is continually a problem and a pain in my ass.

You and Bill Maher would get along wonderfully. Yes, teenagers are a pain. I too will be teaching high school some day. But somebody's gotta do it, right? I assume people think you're crazy when they find out you chose to teach high school. I get it all the time. But just think, at least a few of your kids are going to have a better life because of you!

Thank you for this blog actually. I was going to school to become a teacher and recently I realize "I hate kids." I have two of my own so they're not that bad, but other kids OMG. What the heck are people thinking sometimes? I just hope at least you try to smile. My son's kindergarten teacher doesn't even smile when he walks into the room, talk about not liking the job. Good luck. And yeah, teenagers...that's a whole different blog! LOL!

OK...you have every right to rant and rave about what you do! You teach high school kids English, in an inner-city school on top of that! You are certainly a better person, because although I would love to be a teacher, I'm talking about teaching little 6 or 7 year old kids. High school, no way!!! I remember high school like it was yesterday and you couldn't pay me to go back, especially as a teacher. Those poor teachers were given crap on a regular basis. Very rarely did you find a teacher who fit nice and cozy in the middle. Instead, you had your teachers that were just walked right on over, taken advantage of, used up and spit out at the end of each year. Then, you had your over-the-top teacher who was never any fun, never had a smile on their face and hated their job...and everyone knew it. To be able to teach high school, well, that just has to be a true gift from God!
