Today, our church reached out into the community and touched over 350 lives.  How?  By simply following what Jesus asked us to do.  Jesus simply said share with others about me and when you help someone...what you do even for the least of them, you also do for me.

When the church started almost 3 years ago it became involved in a program called the Back To School Bash.  It was the vision and idea of a teacher at our Mother Church that we reach out to the single moms and low income families out there that really could not afford school supplies much less clothing for their children when it came time for school to start.  So this idea led to a ministry that today touched over 350 lives in just our town.  The children were given the basic school supplies needed to start school, a backpack, lunch, some received hair cuts, and best of all were told and shown about the love of God. 

Personally, I heard Thank you & your church is a Godsend over and over.  Most people were grateful and left with a smile on their face.  Even after spending maybe 3 hours or more in the heat they left knowing that because of God's love for them their children would have supplies to start school.  Unfortunately, we did run out of just about everything and had to start turning people away but led them to another place where they could collect supplies for their children that evening. 

Something as simple as this touched many lives.  A church reaching out.  But everyday we also have an opportunity outside of our church to touch lives and show God's love.  How many of us actually do that everyday and how many of us just go about our day never one time allowing others to see our church face or our Sunday attitude?  I used to be one of those people who would paint on my Sunday face...go to church...sing in the choir...etc.  But now that I have moved to a new town God has led me to a place that is teaching me not only how to be a better person and live for Him...but to also reach out to others.  I am doing more now than ever to help spread God's love.  If you do not know him today....you can.  All you have to do is ask him to forgive you and receive what he gives....forgiveness & unconditional love....
