Unconditional Love ![]() Valentines day is the day of love. The day where people in love show each other how they feel about each other...candy, flowers, jewlry & trinkets are often among the various items given. It can also be a very lonely day for some because they have no one special to share it with. Most importantly, "LOVE" is the focus. When you "love" someone it is supposed to be unconditionally. That means simply without strings attached. Most relationships involving love start out with the best of intentions but every now and then strings become attached, conditions get set, and people lose sight of the reason they fell in love to begin with. This is why more and more relationships come to an end. Sight is lost of the unconditional love. In some rare cultures, conditions are a part of the relationship...but most often times those relationships are never happy. No matter what kind of relationship you have, if there is any kind of "love" involved it should be unconditional. No matter what happens that you will always love that person the same way you did yesterday, today, and tomorrow. That is the kind of love that God has for us. No matter how bad we screw things up...He keeps loving us just as much as He always has. In fact, He loved us so very much that He was willing to give His only Son, Jesus, to die for us. Imagine...to be loved unconditionally...no matter what you do...and then...to have someone give themselves...die...just for you! Are we worthy of such a love? Not by a long shot. But irregardless of how much we have screwed up our lives, the things we have done, God still loves us and forgives us. He may not always be happy with the way we do things, but He loves us unconditionally. Think about that on this day of love and remember to love each other the same way that God loves you...unconditionally. God Bless! John 13:34 2007-02-15 02:14:36 GMT
