I love to sing, laugh, and enjoy life with my children...but most of all I am a great believer in God and my faith.
Somebody Get These Monkies Off My Back!
photo

Have the monkies escaped from the zoo? The reason I am asking is because I have these little monkies that are clinging to my back and quite frankly I am very tired of toting them around!! Does this sound familiar to you? Do you have a monkey or many monkies clinging to your back? Weighing you down? Well I know I do and for some reason every time I think I have them all off here they come again wanting to go along for the ride.

In my case these little monkies represent the "things" in my life that are weighing me down and keeping me from doing the things I KNOW I should be doing for Him. The worst monkey of all is BAD HABITS. You know, those things that are the hardest to kick. And just when you think you have one or two of them licked, something happens and you find yourself falling right back into those old habits.

Another monkey is sin. By human nature we are going to "do what makes us feel good at the time" but then we do realize we are sinning against God and throw ourselves down on our knees to ask forgiveness. But sooner or later you find yourself with that feel good monkey back on your back.

Another monkey is finances. Man do we all need help with that one or what. Just when you think that everything is flowing along fine here comes that little monkey stealing your money and there never seems to be enough.

I could go on and on with all these little monkies identities but to save time and space will come to my point. These little monkies are satans way of keeping us out of His will and doing the things that are pleasing to the world. They hinder us, throw up roadblocks, pull us back, weigh us down and when we least expect it we find them clinging to our backs again. That is when it is time to call the Zoo keeper (God) and tell Him to come and get these monkies.

The thing to do is to ask God, each and every morning when we awaken to keep the monkies in their cages so they can not climb back up on our backs. Without Him, those monkies are going to keep us out of His will. Satan knows our weaknesses and he will use them at every opportunity he can to keep us from God. The difference is as Christians, we recognize this and ask God each and every day to keep them away from us.

So no matter what it is...take it to God and He will keep those monkies in their cages so that you can live according to His will for your life.

God Bless

how 'bout those monkies!?! They NEVER go away without A LOT of prayer. But I can tell you, they do go away. Of course, they do not go anywhere without GOD! Thank God that He doesn't judge us according to our habits, but according to our hearts. Sometimes we just have to learn to beat that ol' flesh down! We love ya,
