At the beginning of every new year we all make these silly resolutions which most of us do not keep. "Go on a diet. Quit drinking. Quit smoking. Spend more time with my family" and the list goes on. But the reality is...many of us get started and never follow through no matter what our good intentions may have been at the time. Don't get me wrong...those and many more of the things we vow to do are good things, but are easier with Him. Unfortunately we often forget the most important thing we need to make a resolution about and that is our relationship with Him.

That is why instead of calling this "New Years Resolutions" I have changed it to "New Years Resurrection" because that is why I am calling mine this year. I am going to resurrect my relationship with my Heavenly Father. To be closer to. Walk closer with. Be more in tune with Him than with the world. Once we find ourselves resoluting to be more intimate with Him, it will be easier to follow through on the other things we want to accomplish. Because after all...all things are possible with God...even the impossible things we try to resolute to do when the new year begins.

So this year, instead of vowing to lose weight, quit drinking, quit smoking, etc....resurrect your relationship with Him and bring it to a whole new level and then those things we had good intentions about will fall into place easier.

Therefore, my New Years Resurrection is: To be closer to Him and His will for my life. What will your New Years Resurrection be for 2007?
