Pretty Feet ![]() A few days ago, in a ladies meeting at our church, our leader suprised those of us in attendance (which was about 8) to a pedicure. I myself at 40 years of age had never had one therefore you can imagine the condition but I was still excited. While our feet were pampered we were given nicely decorative cards with each of our names on the top and had to pass them around for each lady to write something nice about each other. Many of you may be familiar with an email that has circulated several times about a young man who dies in the military who carried a worn simular list that he got in like 5th grade from a project the teacher did. This is where the idea stemmed from. As I wrote my piece on each card I noted some of the things that the other ladies had written about each other and was warmed by the kind words. As the night progressed and each ladies toes were finished we eagerly watched to see what the next set of toes would look like. I of course had to have a nice little deco on my big toe, which eventually led to each lady making a special request for theirs as well...or them being given as a little extra. Needless to say...the results left each lady's feet refreshed and beautifully done. As we closed out the night and waited with all our pretty feet together getting ready for a picture I noted that each lady had put their left foot in which resulted in my starting a short round of the Hokey Pokey. Each of us laughed and danced the cute little tune and I was struck with a thought. Isn't it funny how so many times we only offer pieces of ourselves to God when He desires that we put our whole selves in to His service. All too often we get caught up in the world with our manicures, pedicures, hair-dos, make overs and the like when in reality God created us each with our own natural beauty. We don't have to get all gussied up and spend lots of money to be pleasing in His eyes. All He desires is that we take what He has blessed us with...our whole selves if you will...and follow His perfect will for our lives. Now I am not saying that there are those of us who don't need a little help now and then to make ourselves presentable...I'm just saying that in God's eyes we are perfect even right down to our pretty feet. So the next time your in the middle of your face the day routine or having a makeover...see how much time your spending doing it...then take that same amount of time without all that fuss and muss and spend some time with Him.
