| I love to sing, laugh, and enjoy life with my children...but most of all I am a great believer in God and my faith. | ||||
Fix Me, Fix You ![]() For years, I had been praying for some things in my life that I wanted and I had also been praying for various people to have their eyes opened by God. Over the years many of my wants had gone ungiven and some of the people were still walking around blinded. I just figured in time either God would work it all out or things just weren't meant to be. Because we all know there are some things we want that we are never going to get and there are some people who are never going to open their eyes. Then this blind little squirrel found an acorn...a bit of wisdom if you will. I realized that over the years I had been praying that God would give me all these "things" I thought I really needed and wanted but I wasn't really doing anything to deserve His giving them to me. I realized how can I ask God to open the eyes of someone else when I myself was still walking around partially blinded. And the answer was simple...God will give me what I really need when I need it and open the eyes of those who are still blinded by the world when I myself am right with Him. How can one expect to fix someone else when they themselves are still broken? How can one expect to lead someone else when they themselves are still lost? A lot of times, we as Christians can walk a "little bit" of the walk and talk a "little bit" of the talk and find ourselves still getting ourselves lost in worldly things. It is not until we are making a full fledged effort to walk the walk and talk the talk 100% that God starts giving us a little more of what we need and helping us to be an example to those who still live in the world. Sure, we are human and God knows that and because of His grace we are forgiven when we do fail. It is through our failures that He teaches us valuable lessons in faith and trust in Him. He allows us to fail so that we remember to always look up. So the next time your praying really hard for something and it's just not working out...take a look at your life and see if there is something that is holding you back in your walk as a Christian. Look at the things your doing and see if they line up with the Word of God. Is there something or someone in your life that you need to forgive or overcome? Are you bearing fruit like you should be? Maybe your not thanking Him for what He is doing and becoming expectant that He will continue to just give. Then ask God to take everything that is holding you back and place it all in his hands and see if you don't see more of your prayers being heard and answered. I know I did. And because I finally fixed my life and got right with God...the person I have prayed for for over 15 years saw the difference that God had made in my life and now is saved and living a whole new life in Christ.
