Who You Gonna Call

I was sitting here thinking about having to take my son to the E.R. yesterday and how when my child is sick I take them to the doctor. Then it got me to thinking somemore....When we are sick, we go to the doctor. When something is broken, we call the repairman or replace it. When our car breaks down we take it to a garage or try to fix it ourselves. When we are out of money we go to the bank or pull out our credit card. When we run out of something, we go buy more. But what do we do when our spirit is broken, or weak, or hurting, or sick, or broken down or wearing thin?

All to often, we dampen our spirit even more by saying "Why me?" or go sulk in a corner. As Christians we are supposed to call upon our spiritual doctor Jesus to come to our hearts and heal us. As Christians we are supposed to call upon our repairman Jesus to come fix our brokeness. As Christians we are supposed to call upon our great mechanic Jesus to get us going again. And as Christians we are supposed to take all of our problems to our great listener Jesus so he can hear us and guide us through our troubled times. As Christians we are supposed to go to church to make a withdrawl from the Holy Ghost Bank & refill our spirit and to fellowship and worship Him.

One of the problems of the world today is that we have found a way to "fix" almost everything in our lives and when we can't fix it...we replace it. But you can't just pick up the yellow pages and find "Spirit Repairman". Sure there are plenty of repairmen, physicians, & pshychiatrists listed but you won't find "Spirit Repairman" and a 1-800-fix-spirit number. You can make a call but you won't need a phone...all you need is the power of prayer calling out to our God and he will be your "Spirit Repairman". But if you need a listing from the yellow pages pick up your oldest bible and turn through those yellowed pages and in it as you read, you'll find this:

"Spirit Repairman. Can Fix ANY broken, worn, damaged, hurting, sick, etc. spirit you may have. Just call the number below and ask for God."
