I love to sing, laugh, and enjoy life with my children...but most of all I am a great believer in God and my faith.
The Innocense of a Chid

Often times we hear how the innocense of a small child allows them to have a better discernment about people and allows them to see things we can not.  I had always believed in the fact that a child could feel the difference in a "good" or "bad" person, but I was not sure about the being able to see things until recently.

When my son was born one thing I noticed was how when certain people held him his reactions to them.  So that pretty well confirmed what I already knew.  But I also noticed he would look up, like he was looking at something above him but beyond and giggle and smile as if someone where talking to him.  At first I did not think too much of it...you know...baby with gas.  But then my best friend told me an incredible story.

Her brother had been sick for sometime due to injuries sustained in an accident that left him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.  Complication after complication kept him in the hospital more than out over the last 2-3 years.  Because of this, he was never able to have his grandchildren come to visit, much less be able to go see them in another state.  In October of 2005 her brother lost his fight and went to be with the Lord.  My friend sent pictures a short time later to his family so that the grandchildren could see their grandpa and have some sort of connection to him.  They had never seen a picture of him or met him.

Upon receiving the pictures, the children's mother was laying them out on the table so the children could see them.  The little boy about 4 years old looked at the pictures and said "Mama, that's Papa Wayne".  His mother sat in shock and asked the boy how he knew...and he replied "He comes to play with me and sissy."  The mother called the little girl in there and she verified what the boy had said and added "He comes every night and sits on bubbies bed and puts his hand on him and tells him it will be ok.  He is there...watching over us".

After hearing that story I became more accutely aware of my son's interactions with what appeared to be the air and wondered who he was seeing.  I mentioned before my friend who sees things and she told me my son sees his angel, a little boy and when he is looking up laughing and seeming to talk with someone it is his angel.  I was a little skeptical at first, but my son had started pointing up and saying "God".  He sings and the main word you can pick out in his song is "Jesus".  And when he is alone in a room playing and I happen to walk in to check on him...before he notices my presence...he appears to be looking up, laughing, talking and pointing to his angel.

Having said all that...I now truly believe that children have a special gift.  My son adores my pastor but will shy away from most men.  My pastor says it is because my son can feel God's annointing in him.  My son adores my neighbors because he senses their love for him.  And his innocense allows him to see the angels who watch over him....over us.  If we could only keep that innocense in ourselves that children have that would be great.  But I believe that many of us lose that sight long before we know what it really is so that God can teach us about Faith and how important it is that we love and trust Him in all things.  Because if we could just see it...there wouldn't really be much left to believe in.
